UNIMEL HIMPUNKAN INDUSTRI DAN AGENSI KERAJAAN DALAM PROGRAM PENDIDIKAN PERBURUHAN NEGERI MELAKA
Universiti Islam Melaka (UNIMEL) terus memainkan peranan sebagai institusi pendidikan yang prihatin terhadap pembangunan masyarakat dan kesejahteraan dunia pekerjaan apabila menjadi tuan rumah bagi Program Pendidikan Perburuhan (PPP) Siri 2/2026 anjuran Jabatan Tenaga Kerja Negeri Melaka bertempat di Conference Room, UNIMEL hari ini.
Program yang membawa tema “Hak Pekerja dan Tanggungjawab Majikan: Ke Arah Tadbir Urus Pekerjaan Yang Baik” itu menghimpunkan peserta daripada pelbagai sektor bagi meningkatkan kefahaman berkaitan hak pekerja, pematuhan Akta Kerja 1955 (Pindaan) 2022 serta pengurusan organisasi yang lebih sistematik dan berintegriti.






Majlis turut diserikan dengan ucapan perasmian oleh Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr. Abdul Khalil Shawkataly, Naib Canselor UNIMEL yang menegaskan bahawa universiti bukan sahaja berfungsi sebagai pusat penyebaran ilmu akademik, malah menjadi platform strategik dalam membentuk budaya kerja lestari, beretika dan sejahtera selaras dengan agenda pembangunan modal insan negara.
Program ini turut menampilkan beberapa slot perkongsian ilmu yang dikendalikan oleh pegawai Jabatan Tenaga Kerja Negeri Melaka. Slot pertama bertajuk “Fungsi Jabatan Tenaga Kerja Negeri Melaka” disampaikan oleh Puan Norah binti Mohd Ramli, Timbalan Pengarah Tenaga Kerja Negeri Melaka yang menghuraikan peranan jabatan dalam memastikan pematuhan undang-undang pekerjaan serta kebajikan pekerja terus terpelihara.



Sementara itu, Slot kedua bertajuk “Cuti Sakit & Hospitalisasi: Hak, Tanggungjawab dan Isu di Tempat Kerja” serta Slot ketiga “Cuti Tahunan dan Cuti Tanpa Gaji: Pengurusan dan Pematuhan di Bawah Akta Kerja 1955 (Pindaan) 2022” telah disampaikan oleh Puan Noraishah binti Othman, Penolong Pengarah Tenaga Kerja Negeri Melaka. Kedua-dua slot memberi penekanan terhadap kefahaman majikan dan pekerja mengenai hak cuti, pematuhan perundangan serta pengurusan sumber manusia yang lebih efektif dan profesional.
Penganjuran program ini membuktikan komitmen UNIMEL dalam memperkukuhkan jaringan strategik bersama agensi kerajaan serta menyokong usaha melahirkan masyarakat yang lebih cakna terhadap hak pekerjaan, keharmonian industri dan tadbir urus organisasi yang berkualiti.
UNIMEL GATHERS INDUSTRY PLAYERS AND GOVERNMENT AGENCIES IN THE MELAKA STATE LABOUR EDUCATION PROGRAM
Universiti Islam Melaka (UNIMEL) continues to play its role as an educational institution that is concerned with community development and workplace well-being by hosting the Labour Education Program (PPP) Series 2/2026, organized by the Jabatan Tenaga Kerja Negeri Melaka, at the Conference Room, UNIMEL today.
The program, themed “Workers’ Rights and Employers’ Responsibilities: Towards Good Employment Governance,” brought together participants from various sectors to enhance understanding of workers’ rights, compliance with the Employment Act 1955 (Amendment) 2022, and more systematic and integrity-driven organizational management.
The event was further highlighted by an opening speech delivered by Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr. Abdul Khalil Shawkataly, Vice Chancellor of UNIMEL, who emphasized that universities not only serve as centers for academic knowledge dissemination but also act as strategic platforms in shaping a sustainable, ethical, and harmonious work culture in line with the nation’s human capital development agenda.
The program also featured several knowledge-sharing sessions conducted by officers from the Melaka State Labour Department. The first session, titled “Functions of the Melaka State Labour Department,” was presented by Norah binti Mohd Ramli, Deputy Director of the Melaka State Labour Department, who elaborated on the department’s role in ensuring compliance with employment laws and safeguarding workers’ welfare.
Meanwhile, the second session titled “Medical Leave & Hospitalisation: Rights, Responsibilities and Workplace Issues” and the third session titled “Annual Leave and Unpaid Leave: Management and Compliance Under the Employment Act 1955 (Amendment) 2022” were delivered by Noraishah binti Othman, Assistant Director of the Melaka State Labour Department. Both sessions emphasized the importance of understanding leave entitlements, legal compliance, and more effective and professional human resource management among employers and employees.
The organization of this program demonstrates UNIMEL’s commitment to strengthening strategic networks with government agencies while supporting efforts to cultivate a society that is more aware of employment rights, industrial harmony, and quality organizational governance.
