FKI CROWNED OVERALL CHAMPION OF UNIMEL OLYMPIC CAMPUS (UMOC) 2026
MELAKA, 18 July 2026 β The Faculty of Islamic Studies (FKI) was crowned the Overall Champion of the UNIMEL Olympic Campus (UMOC) 2026 after delivering an outstanding performance throughout the university’s annual sports tournament. The announcement was made during the UMOC 2026 Closing Ceremony held at the UNIMEL Stadium.
The closing ceremony was officiated by the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Melaka (UNIMEL), YBhg. Prof. Ts. Dr. Abdul Khalil bin Shawkataly. Also in attendance were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), YBrs. Tn. Hj. Zulkefli bin Abu Bakar, and YBrs. Dr. Mazni binti Muhammad, who is carrying out the duties and functions of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International) and also serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Education.



The ceremony commenced with a parade of contingents representing each faculty, showcasing their sportsmanship, discipline and unique faculty identities. This was followed by the prize presentation ceremony to honour winners across all events contested throughout UMOC 2026.
Based on the overall results, the Faculty of Islamic Studies (FKI) emerged as the champion, followed by the Faculty of Business, Hospitality and Technology (FPHT) as the first runner-up, while the Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences (FKSK) secured third place.
In his closing address, the Vice-Chancellor expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the organising committee, officials, coaches, athletes and the entire UNIMEL community for their commitment and cooperation in ensuring the success of this year’s university sports tournament.



He emphasised that UMOC is not merely a platform for competition and determining champions, but also an important avenue for nurturing holistic, competitive and ethical graduates through the cultivation of leadership, discipline, teamwork and resilience.
“UMOC is not merely a platform for competition to determine champions; it is also a platform for developing holistic, competitive and ethical graduates. It is here that the spirit of leadership, discipline, teamwork and resilience is nurturedβqualities that will serve as valuable assets when our students embark on their professional careers,” he said.
As a symbol of its remarkable achievement, the Overall Champion Challenge Trophy of UMOC 2026 was presented to the Faculty of Islamic Studies (FKI). The ceremony concluded with a commemorative photography session, celebrating the success of the tournament while strengthening the spirit of unity and camaraderie among the university community.



The organisation of UMOC 2026 reflects UNIMEL’s continuous commitment to fostering holistic student development through active participation in sports and co-curricular activities, in line with the University’s aspiration to produce well-rounded graduates who excel academically, demonstrate exemplary character, possess strong leadership qualities and maintain physical well-being.
The programme also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, by promoting healthy and active lifestyles; SDG 4: Quality Education, through the development of students’ talents, leadership and holistic values; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by fostering close collaboration among faculties, university management and the entire UNIMEL community in the successful organisation of this annual sporting event.
FKI JUARA KESELURUHAN UNIMEL OLYMPIC CAMPUS (UMOC) 2026
MELAKA, 18 Julai 2026 β Fakulti Keilmuan Islam (FKI) dinobatkan sebagai Juara Keseluruhan UNIMEL Olympic Campus (UMOC) 2026 selepas mempamerkan prestasi cemerlang sepanjang temasya sukan tahunan Universiti Melaka (UNIMEL). Pengumuman kemenangan tersebut dibuat pada Majlis Penutup UMOC 2026 yang berlangsung di Stadium UNIMEL.
Majlis penutup telah disempurnakan oleh Naib Canselor UNIMEL, YBhg. Prof. Ts. Dr. Abdul Khalil bin Shawkataly. Turut hadir ialah Timbalan Naib Canselor Hal Ehwal Pelajar dan Alumni, YBrs. Tn. Hj. Zulkefli bin Abu Bakar, serta YBrs. Dr. Mazni binti Muhammad, yang menjalankan tugas dan fungsi Timbalan Naib Canselor Akademik dan Antarabangsa merangkap Dekan Fakulti Pendidikan.
Majlis dimulakan dengan perbarisan masuk kontinjen daripada setiap fakulti yang menampilkan semangat kesukanan, disiplin serta identiti fakulti masing-masing. Acara diteruskan dengan penyampaian hadiah kepada para pemenang bagi semua acara yang dipertandingkan sepanjang penganjuran UMOC 2026.
Berdasarkan keputusan keseluruhan, Fakulti Keilmuan Islam (FKI) muncul sebagai johan, diikuti Fakulti Perniagaan, Hospitaliti dan Teknologi (FPHT) di tempat kedua, manakala Fakulti Kejururawatan dan Sains Kesihatan (FKSK) menduduki tempat ketiga.
Dalam ucapan penutupnya, Naib Canselor merakamkan setinggi-tinggi penghargaan kepada jawatankuasa penganjur, pegawai, jurulatih, atlet dan seluruh warga UNIMEL atas komitmen serta kerjasama dalam menjayakan temasya sukan universiti pada tahun ini.
Beliau berkata, UMOC bukan sekadar platform untuk mencungkil bakat dan menentukan juara, malah menjadi wadah penting dalam membentuk mahasiswa yang holistik, berdaya saing serta berintegriti melalui penerapan nilai kepimpinan, disiplin, kerja berpasukan dan daya tahan.
“UMOC bukan sekadar medan pertandingan untuk menentukan juara, tetapi merupakan platform membentuk graduan yang holistik, berdaya saing dan berintegriti. Di sinilah lahirnya semangat kepimpinan, disiplin, kerja berpasukan dan daya tahan yang akan menjadi bekalan penting apabila mahasiswa melangkah ke alam kerjaya,” katanya.
Sebagai simbol kejayaan, piala pusingan Juara Keseluruhan UMOC 2026 telah disampaikan kepada Fakulti Keilmuan Islam (FKI), sebelum majlis diakhiri dengan sesi bergambar kenangan yang menyemarakkan lagi semangat perpaduan dan kebersamaan dalam kalangan warga universiti.
Penganjuran UMOC 2026 mencerminkan komitmen berterusan UNIMEL dalam memperkukuh pembangunan mahasiswa secara menyeluruh melalui penglibatan aktif dalam bidang sukan dan kokurikulum, selaras dengan aspirasi universiti untuk melahirkan graduan yang seimbang dari aspek akademik, sahsiah, kepimpinan dan kecergasan fizikal.
Program ini turut menyokong aspirasi Matlamat Pembangunan Mampan (Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs) khususnya SDG 3: Kesihatan Baik dan Kesejahteraan (Good Health and Well-being) menerusi pembudayaan gaya hidup aktif dan sihat, SDG 4: Pendidikan Berkualiti (Quality Education) melalui pembangunan bakat, kepimpinan dan nilai insaniah mahasiswa, serta SDG 17: Perkongsian untuk Matlamat (Partnerships for the Goals) melalui kerjasama erat antara fakulti, pengurusan universiti dan seluruh warga UNIMEL dalam menjayakan temasya sukan tahunan ini.
