UNIMEL LANCAR CARE CORNER DAN TABUNG UNIMEL CARE DEMI KESEJAHTERAAN MAHASISWA
Universiti Islam Melaka (UNIMEL) terus memperkukuh komitmennya terhadap kebajikan mahasiswa menerusi perasmian UNIMEL Care Corner (Food Bank UNIMEL) dan pelancaran Tabung UNIMEL Care yang berlangsung di Pusat Pelajar Kolej Kediaman UNIMEL.
Inisiatif yang diterajui oleh Bahagian Endowmen (Wakaf, Zakat dan Infaq), UNIMEL dengan kerjasama Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar (MPP) ini diwujudkan bagi menyediakan bantuan makanan serta keperluan asas kepada pelajar yang memerlukan, sekali gus membantu meringankan beban kos sara hidup dan memastikan kebajikan mahasiswa sentiasa terpelihara sepanjang tempoh pengajian.



Dalam ucapan perasmiannya, Naib Canselor UNIMEL, Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr. Abdul Khalil bin Shawkataly menegaskan bahawa UNIMEL Care Corner bukan sekadar pusat agihan bantuan makanan, malah menjadi lambang keprihatinan, solidariti dan semangat kebersamaan warga universiti dalam membantu mahasiswa yang berdepan cabaran kewangan.
Beliau turut menyifatkan inisiatif tersebut sebagai manifestasi komitmen UNIMEL dalam mewujudkan persekitaran kampus yang inklusif, prihatin dan sejahtera, selaras dengan aspirasi universiti untuk memastikan setiap pelajar berpeluang menumpukan perhatian kepada kecemerlangan akademik tanpa dibelenggu masalah keperluan asas.



Selaras dengan agenda S.I.N.A.R. UNIMEL serta aspirasi Matlamat Pembangunan Mampan (SDGs), khususnya SDG 2 (Kelaparan Sifar), SDG 3 (Kesihatan dan Kesejahteraan Baik) dan SDG 4 (Pendidikan Berkualiti), UNIMEL Care Corner dan Tabung UNIMEL Care turut menjadi platform kepada warga universiti, alumni, ibu bapa, rakan strategik serta masyarakat untuk menyumbang dan berkongsi rezeki demi kesejahteraan serta kelangsungan pendidikan mahasiswa.
Pelaksanaan inisiatif ini mencerminkan komitmen berterusan UNIMEL dalam membudayakan nilai ihsan, kebersamaan dan tanggungjawab sosial sebagai sebahagian daripada usaha melahirkan graduan yang bukan sahaja cemerlang dalam akademik, malah memiliki jiwa kemanusiaan yang tinggi.

UNIMEL LAUNCHES CARE CORNER AND UNIMEL CARE FUND FOR STUDENT WELL-BEING
Universiti Islam Melaka (UNIMEL) continues to strengthen its commitment to student welfare through the official opening of the UNIMEL Care Corner (UNIMEL Food Bank) and the launch of the UNIMEL Care Fund, held at the UNIMEL Residential College Student Centre.
This initiative, led by the Endowment Division (Waqf, Zakat and Infaq) in collaboration with the Student Representative Council (MPP), was established to provide food assistance and basic necessities to students in need. The program aims to ease the burden of rising living costs while ensuring that students’ welfare is safeguarded throughout their academic journey.
In his officiating speech, Prof. Datuk Ts. Dr. Abdul Khalil Shawkataly, Vice Chancellor of UNIMEL, emphasized that the UNIMEL Care Corner is not merely a food assistance distribution center but also a symbol of compassion, solidarity, and the spirit of togetherness among the university community in supporting students facing financial challenges.
He described the initiative as a manifestation of UNIMELβs commitment to creating an inclusive, caring, and supportive campus environment, in line with the universityβs aspiration to ensure that every student has the opportunity to focus on academic excellence without being burdened by concerns over basic necessities.
Aligned with UNIMELβs S.I.N.A.R. agenda and the aspirations of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)βparticularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, and SDG 4: Quality Educationβthe UNIMEL Care Corner and UNIMEL Care Fund also serve as platforms for university staff, alumni, parents, strategic partners, and the wider community to contribute and share their blessings in support of studentsβ well-being and educational continuity.
The implementation of this initiative reflects UNIMELβs ongoing commitment to fostering the values of compassion, unity, and social responsibility as part of its efforts to nurture graduates who are not only academically outstanding but also possess a strong sense of humanity and social consciousness.
