UMIS@UNIMEL STRENGTHENS DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION TOWARDS A SMART AND SUSTAINABLE UNIVERSITY

MELAKA, 21 AUGUST 2026 – Universiti Islam Melaka (UNIMEL) continues to strengthen its institutional digital transformation through the introduction of the University Management Information System (UMIS@UNIMEL), a strategic initiative to realise the UNIMEL Smart Green Campus agenda towards developing a smarter, more efficient and sustainable university.

UMIS@UNIMEL is an integrated university management information system that consolidates various key functions, including academic management, finance, human resources, student services, the Learning Management System (LMS), Open and Distance Learning (ODL), research, convocation and various university administrative operations within a more systematic and comprehensive digital ecosystem.

The implementation of this system goes beyond merely digitising work processes. It also serves as a catalyst for fostering a culture of data-driven management among the university community. This approach has the potential to enhance management efficiency, streamline workflows and support more accurate and effective decision making.

In addition, UMIS@UNIMEL creates opportunities for the adoption of emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), to support service improvements, enhance the student experience and strengthen university service delivery in line with current technological developments.

This initiative also reflects UNIMEL’s commitment to supporting the development of a more sustainable campus through the use of digital technology to optimise resource management, reduce reliance on manual processes and improve operational efficiency.

In line with the aspirations of the UNIMEL Smart Green Campus, the development of UMIS@UNIMEL represents an important step towards establishing a progressive and responsive university ecosystem that is prepared to meet the challenges of the future of higher education.

UNIMEL will continue to strengthen its digital transformation efforts by ensuring that technological advancements remain balanced with human values, integrity and the trust placed in education, with the aim of creating a higher-quality learning and university management environment.

UMIS@UNIMEL PERKASA TRANSFORMASI DIGITAL KE ARAH UNIVERSITI PINTAR DAN LESTARI

MELAKA, 21 OGOS 2026 – Universiti Islam Melaka (UNIMEL) terus memperkukuh transformasi digital institusi melalui pengenalan University Management Information System (UMIS@UNIMEL), sebagai salah satu inisiatif strategik dalam merealisasikan agenda UNIMEL Smart Green Campus ke arah pembangunan universiti yang lebih pintar, cekap dan lestari.

UMIS@UNIMEL merupakan sistem pengurusan maklumat universiti bersepadu yang menggabungkan pelbagai fungsi utama merangkumi pengurusan akademik, kewangan, sumber manusia, perkhidmatan pelajar, Sistem Pengurusan Pembelajaran (Learning Management System, LMS), Pembelajaran Terbuka dan Jarak Jauh (Open and Distance Learning, ODL), penyelidikan, konvokesyen serta pelbagai urusan pentadbiran universiti dalam satu ekosistem digital yang lebih sistematik dan menyeluruh.

Pelaksanaan sistem ini bukan sahaja bertujuan mendigitalkan proses kerja, malah menjadi pemangkin kepada pembudayaan pengurusan berasaskan data (data-driven management) dalam kalangan warga universiti. Pendekatan ini berpotensi meningkatkan kecekapan pengurusan, memperkemas aliran kerja serta menyokong proses membuat keputusan yang lebih tepat dan berkesan.

Selain itu, UMIS@UNIMEL turut membuka ruang kepada penerapan teknologi baharu, termasuk Kecerdasan Buatan (Artificial Intelligence, AI), bagi menyokong usaha penambahbaikan perkhidmatan, meningkatkan pengalaman mahasiswa dan memperkukuh penyampaian perkhidmatan universiti seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi semasa.

Inisiatif ini juga mencerminkan komitmen UNIMEL dalam menyokong pembangunan kampus yang lebih lestari melalui penggunaan teknologi digital bagi mengoptimumkan pengurusan sumber, mengurangkan kebergantungan terhadap proses manual dan mempertingkat kecekapan operasi universiti.

Seiring dengan aspirasi UNIMEL Smart Green Campus, pembangunan UMIS@UNIMEL menjadi antara langkah penting dalam membentuk ekosistem universiti yang progresif, responsif dan bersedia menghadapi cabaran pendidikan tinggi masa hadapan.
