UNIVERSITI ISLAM MELAKA DAN PERBADANAN HARTA INTELEK MALAYSIA PERKUKUH SINERGI PACU INOVASI AKADEMIK MAPAN
KUALA SUNGAI BARU, 12 Februari 2026 – Sinergi strategik antara Universiti Islam Melaka (UNIMEL) dan Perbadanan Harta Intelek Malaysia (MyIPO) terus diperkasa menerusi kunjungan hormat Pengarah MyIPO Wilayah Tengah (Melaka), Encik Ryzul bin Osman Basah kepada Naib Canselor UNIMEL, Profesor Datuk Ts. Dr. Abdul Khalil bin Shawkataly.
Pertemuan yang berlangsung dalam suasana penuh profesional itu memfokuskan kepada usaha memperkukuh pembelajaran berasaskan industri erlindungan harta intelek melibatkan hasil penyelidikan dan inovasi warga UNIMEL, selaras dengan aspirasi universiti untuk memacu kecemerlangan akademik berteraskan inovasi dan impak.
Antara perkara yang dibincangkan termasuklah cadangan pelaksanaan program kesedaran, latihan serta bimbingan berkaitan pengurusan harta intelek bagi pensyarah dan pelajar. Inisiatif ini bertujuan meningkatkan kefahaman mengenmelalui ai kepentingan pendaftaran paten, cap dagangan dan hak cipta sebagai langkah melindungi serta mengkomersialkan hasil inovasi.
Naib Canselor UNIMEL menegaskan bahawa kerjasama strategik ini amat signifikan dalam membudayakan ekosistem inovasi yang lebih tersusun dan mampan di universiti. “Perlindungan harta intelek bukan sahaja menjamin hak pencipta, malah membuka peluang pengkomersialan dan pemindahan teknologi55 yang mampu memberi nilai tambah kepada institusi dan masyarakat,” ujarnya.
Sinergi UNIMEL dan MyIPO ini diharap menjadi pemangkin kepada pembangunan budaya inovasi yang lebih progresif, sekali gus mengangkat reputasi universiti sebagai institusi pendidikan tinggi yang kompetitif dan berimpak tinggi di peringkat nasional.

KUALA SUNGAI BARU, 12 February 2026 – Strategic synergy between Universiti Islam Melaka (UNIMEL) and MyIPO continues to be strengthened through a courtesy visit by the Director of MyIPO Central Region (Melaka), Ryzul Osman Basah, to the Vice Chancellor of UNIMEL, Profesor Datuk Ts. Dr. Abdul Khalil Shawkataly.
The meeting, held in a professional and constructive atmosphere, focused on enhancing industry-based learning and strengthening intellectual property protection for research outputs and innovations produced by UNIMEL staff and students. This aligns with the university’s aspiration to drive academic excellence rooted in innovation and impactful outcomes.
Key discussions included proposals for awareness programmes, training sessions, and guidance related to intellectual property management for both lecturers and students. These initiatives aim to improve understanding of the importance of patent registration, trademarks, and copyright as essential mechanisms for protecting and commercialising innovations.
The Vice Chancellor emphasised that this strategic collaboration is crucial in cultivating a structured and sustainable innovation ecosystem within the university.
“Intellectual property protection not only safeguards creators’ rights but also creates opportunities for commercialisation and technology transfer that add value to both the institution and society,” he said.
The collaboration between UNIMEL and MyIPO is expected to serve as a catalyst in developing a more progressive innovation culture, further strengthening the university’s reputation as a competitive and high impact higher education institution at the national level.
